Dr. Lee and Emilia Kasprzak are co-hosting a 25-minute roundtable at the CPA Conference titled "Undergrad Psych: Challenges & Career Success". This session will explore real struggles psych students face and gather input to propose actionable changes in the psychology community. Dr. Lee and Emilia Kasprzak are excited to present our research titled “Rejection Sensitivity and Conspicuous Spending: How Social Experiences Influence Consumer Behaviour in Socially Anxious Individuals.” This project has been a collaborative effort with the University of Waterloo, where we’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Professor Dr. David Moscovitch and lab coordinator Kashish Kahlon from the Social Anxiety Research Lab.
Our preliminary results reveal a novel relationship between self-esteem and perceived inclusion, offering new insights into the psychological mechanisms that drive consumer behaviour among socially anxious individuals.
